Hey, how's life? I'm Kyra, and I'm the random dude off in the corner with six pencils on my person and ink on my arms.

I like writing, sewing, cosplaying, drawing, oversized flannel shirts and Homestuck. And a lot of other things, too, which I'll add later if I get around to it.

it bothers me that Kansas and Arkansas are not pronounced the same

I’m from the UK and I have been pronouncing Arkansas as Ar-Kansas my whole life

For all my non-american friends, Arkansas is pronounced ark-an-saw

WHAT

WHAT

Let me tell you fuckers a story. I’ve lived in the United States all my life, but get me drunk during a game of Junior Trivial Persuit and ask me where the pilgrims landed and all of a sudden Plymouth Rock is located in Ar-Kansas.

So somehow one of the housemen at work got my cell number and has been texting me the past few days and it’s kind of freaking me out. Like, the only thing I do for this guy is let him know when I find beer in my rooms because I don’t drink it and I don’t want it to go to waste, but he asked if he should get me a present for my birthday and keeps trying to hug me and he’s asked me like five times today if I’m going to be at work tomorrow.

I’m just. Really not comfortable with this.

Homestuck may have many issues but at least it acknowledges the fact that why the fuck would an alien society have the shitty human concept of heteronormativity

Here's some Jewish for you, bro: an imaginary illness is worse than a real one.

I’ve largely stayed out of the whole Andy Blake mess, pretty much since back when he was still Victoria Bitter, but this was a confluence of a couple of my issues and I am just absolutely shaking with rage.

So a few days ago he posted this, “Land of Milk and Fundies”, supposedly an open letter…

This reminds me so much of MsScribe.

Again, what is his hard-on for the military? He’s no better at gathering details for this than he is at his many pet illnesses, they’re always disproved.

My thoughts exactly.

I was only able to skim most of it because dear Lord the man’s purple prose.  So many flowery turns of phrase and SAT vocab words all to say very very little.  I don’t like to even bother reading his posts most of the time unless something noteworthy is linked on one of the callout blogs because it can be triggering; but it’s also because actually reading even just a single sentence is exhausting trying to parse the purple word circles he writes.  Which is proof enough that this post was actually written by him (which isn’t to disregard the important points of contention made by musicforswimming); the man is actually incapable of writing in different voices.

But a couple of other things I did note:

  1. This is hardly the first time he’s taken it upon himself to insert himself into the narrative of an actual shitty situation or tragedy by having “someone else” prompt him to make a ~heartfelt~ post about it.
  2. What is with the random name-drop of “World War Z”?  It had literally nothing to do with the point being made.  But Andy, as we know, has a history of dropping fandom references in where none belong or are needed.

It really is just disgusting the way he uses the deaths of actual people to position himself as some kind of selfless hero.
